Sansui Power Transformer

Can this beast be re-purposed? If so, I'd like to use it to power a class D amp.

We will need information about it to help you. Have you powered it up and taken the voltage of the secondaries? What voltage is the Class D amp you hoping to use it with?

Do you know how to test it safely?

Do you have an in-line AC bulb tester?

It was removed from a fully operational 5500. I have not done a thing with it since it's removal. I do not know how to test it. I do have a DMM (a cheap one at that). The amp is a Sure 100*4 with a voltage range of 12-30VDC.

If you can chase the schematic for the original amp we can help with working out its rating and ultimately its use in the future.

Funny you should say that. I actually have the original service manual for the the ol' beasty!:) Can't make heads or tales of the dang thing. :headbash:

The scans are too large to post so..., you can email me and I will reply with the PDF as an attachment. Just check my profile for the address. Many Thanks.

If you open them up in Microsoft Picture Manager you can compress them.
