Dual Power supply for my pre-amp

Hi.
Usually the old and popular 78XX (positive side ) and 79XX (negative ) are used for this purpose . By using one 7815 and one 7915 ( beware of the legs that are different position for ground and output...also input ! ) you'll have a regulated dual supply. If you want , you can use variable voltage regulators , to get the maximum voltage allowed by your circuit ; those are the famous and old LM 317 and LM337 (negative side ) .Old but good !

Well.... Without the regulators i am getting a output of ±42VDc from this board where as the input to the board is 18-0-18ac, IS THAT NORMAL??
