single supply AC grounding question ....
This is just a quick question .....
I know when building an amp that uses a dual DC supply with a center tap transformer you ground the center tap on the transformer but what do you do with a single supply with a single winding transformer ?? Thanx |
Strictly speaking you should attach the centre tap to the junction of the two smoothing caps. Then you ground the DC output of the supply. This keeps charging pulses away from the ground.
For a single supply you just ground the DC output. So both are the same - ground at the PSU output. |
Great ..... Thanx
