Hi All
Here in holland I can,t get as a non business man EE cores from epcom. Is there here a dutch or other who can give me a tip where to order these EDT59 or EE55 cores, one I need for a welder who transformator is burnt and I want now a welder inverter, I have nice schematics what works but not the trafos cores. this is a nice thread, maybe we can get the cores more easely. thanks |

Mouser.com Has ETD cores. Not sure if they ship out your way though.

try coilcraft, or try the powerint.com website who advise on this.
Alternatively you tell lies that you do high volume and then they send you free samples. RS have some for sale. Maybe you have a small transformer winding place near you. Find your nearest epcos distributor. Otherwise, it is difficult. And there is much industrial secrecy on it. |

I buy cores (EDT59, EDT49,...), copper, bobbins at: Menting Mikroelektrik - Shop They are very quick, it's cheap. Don't know if they send holland. |

I try it. I have question about gapped or not gapped core, when need I gapped and when not, it lowers the al of the core so I can think with high frequenties the windings become to low, and so with gap you can decrease the all and so more windings. for example a 5 to 170 ampere welding inverter don,t use a gap, you see with computer supply with edt cores a small gap of 0.5 mm. Nice to learn some of the smps before I go blow myself to walhalla. here is a site with calculation software. Design of switch power supplies |
