Default stange core size

I pulled apart a projection TV and got 2 ferrite with 1/16 ' gaps and cant find data sheet with same dimensions

49mm wide, 54mm high, window 37 x 10 mm, centre leg 17.16 x 18.5 high , outter legs 6mm x 27mm high.

I thought if I could find data sheet Id have core material etc . theres no continuity . It had litz wire so its for HF .

You can get nearly any core material in that format, and it is a common size.

If you can measure the saturation curve accurately that will narrow the material selection.

Close enough. http://www.ferroxcube.com/prod/assets/etd54.pdf I'd guess 3C90ish material. A 1/16" gap (surely you measured that in mm as well??) will give you about A_L = 0.21 uH/t^2 and NI_max = 250At or so. Good for maybe a few hundred watts flyback, or a high-ripple forward converter choke, or maybe a resonant type where low magnetizing inductance is required.

Measuring the saturation curve of the material alone will be difficult with the airgap. Few ferrites saturate or overheat at 0.3T or less, so you'd have a hard time screwing it up with conservative estimates regardless of the material.
