Default 3.3vdc Discreet 3 pin regulators

We have the Tent Labs and Paul Haynes design currently for this kinda circuit in the market. I just wonder if there's a possibility a circuit similar to these design enough for the diy community to try. I would like try if someone have the circuit to share with.
