I've built a Tubelab simple se with a Edcor XPWR035 PT which has 200 mA for the HT and 5 A for the heaters.
I get about 460V B+. I wanted to try the KT120 tubes in them. The heaters can run almost 1.9A a tube, add in the 12at7 and I'm quite close to the stated amperage of the Edcor. I understand this will have the PT run hotter, but is this an early death for the PT or will it just run hotter. Are Edcors "conservatively" rated? Thanks, Paul |
