Default Resistor 4R7 / W5

Hello, i have to change a resistor in a PSU of an Crest 8002 PRO Amplifier and the resistor in the scheme has the value 4R7/W5. What does the W5 mean? I dont think its 5Watt because the space is to small for a Ceramic resistor. Does it mean 0,5Watt?

Thanks for help!

What is the physical size of the resistor you are replacing. This may give you a clue. And IMHO if the resistor is faulty there is a good chance somthing besides the resistor is at fault.

often in electronics we use the descriptor as the decimal separator. eg. 9r1, 1W5, 0k22 etc.
0W5 would certainly be half a Watt.
W5 does not meet any standard that I know of.
I suspect it is bad use of 0W5, but the leading zero has been omitted.
As you can see from the confusion caused, it is far better to stick to the standard of "Never Omit the Leading Zero".
