hello. here is a simple guide for modifying hypex softstart to handle a little more start current.
Cut out the current resistors R9 and R10.
get 2 CL-60 NTC resistors insted. solder them a bit over the PCB.
with some shrinktube over the legs. (make sure the NTC's can handle the current) the NTCresistors drops there resistanse when they get hot. and they get hot fast. so when the relè kicks inn, the resistense is low. now the softstart will handle a lot more current whitout welding the relè.
if this is not enougth. you can replace the 16A relè with a 30A relè.
you will however need to solder it with cabels when the relè has a bigger footprint then the 16A relè
mine now handels 1000VA transformer and 408.000uF cap bank.
thats with 16A relè.
