I know but we're audiophiles, if there's difference we have to record it.

Will be good to know if george hear the same differences.
1.2R psu with Pana THA 15.000uF 63V 105șC (two tx + two psu + two regs) 1.1 psu with Nippon Chemi-Con 10.000uF 63V 85șC (one tx + one psu + one reg) |

Felipe,
I assume that you mean about the low voltage one. I initially built a V1.2 - dual shunts, dual r-core trans, CLC, panasonic 4700 and mundorf 22000 caps, for my simplistic phono -and then changed to 1.1. I tried with 15031 initially, but changed to mosfet, which I liked better. Even from the 1.2 I had, as far as I remember. Just out of curiosity, today I scoped with a dummy load V1.2 and was not so clean up high as 1.1. My layout should be to blame, as it was not the best. Although I intend to rebuild it, even as an exercise for the layout. 1.1 is so much easier to do and so good sounding, that is the best solution for most applications.

George,
Interesting that V1.2 not so clean in highs, so your hear better V1.1 than V1.2 like me? your V1.1 uses MKP or lytic for Vref? |

Has anyone tried to use Blackgate 220uF NX for Vref. (SSLV BiB1.1)? I want to build reg. for Va +/- 5V AD1865 Dac.
Thanks |

BG is the best lytic cap but the problem with BG is all are old manufacturated so perfomance isn't the same if is on production. Pana FM bypassed with FT3 Russian teflon film and aluminium foil can be a very good and cheap alternative.

I used Elna silmic II 220uF for Vref and 2.2 MKP tin foil at the output.
I did not make a direct comparison, but as far as I remember the differences were small.

I used Pana FM 220uF for Vref and 10uF MKP Arcotronics at the output but I hear more harmonics/resolution using 10uF MKP Arcotronics for Vref and 10uF MKP Arcotronics at the output, the difference isn't small.
