Just checking its limits in case that the I/V draws more current.
On the manual it says that it draws a constant current of 350mA. So i will finalize settings when i measure the real thing. 100mA on top of consumption is enough? |

I am looking on some noise measurements, and mixing one 3V9 0.5W Zener or a blue Led with the other two, looks safe by the way. Better the blue, the Zener will need reverse orientation and we don't know if it will be that stable without strong current. |

I have used blue in dcb1 and mixed in SSV1 with no negative impact on noise, audible noise anyway

btw the actual current draw for the analogue supplies of the sabre is only 100ma total for 5 supplies (mixed 3v3 and 1v2, so its not 330mW), including a 100mhz XO. thats some pretty serious overhead on the tridents?

I havenīt found blue leds (smaller than 5mm) in my city. So, I must wait.
I can achieve 433mA in my neg 15v regulator using a 1R1 resistor. |

That should be enough. Measure the actual current draw of the load on the negative rail. Don't push the idle dissipation if it suffices for 100mA+ margin.

To Salas and people concerned in Buffalo ii+ Tridents and Legato. Iīve never measured the current draw, because my first exerience with Trident was the my PS then,(Placid 350mA) gave not enough current to lite the leds in local AVCC and Tridents. Then I gave as good what I read in forums: idle current for Buffalo+tridents 450-475mA and 300 mA for Legato.
Today I have measured the idle current with the following results: Buffalo + Tridents: 410mA Legato 2 and 3.1 (without Buffers):Between 190 and 200 mA. So thatīs the departure point (for me) |

So it draws 200mA per rail for the +/-15V rails. Setting the 15V regs CCSs at 350mA is royal.
