Match Vgs for Mosfets and use matched highest hfe for BJTs if you have many spares. But it will not yield much since we are not using dif amps and symmetrical output stages in this one.

Its a general thing to use best hfe if you can, but I repeat its not something these regs are relying on.

Mainly for those BC in error amp duty. Yes, generally. But C grade puts you in high hfe territory anyway.

Do you know yours MJEs manufacturer? I suppose 200-250 hfe is maximum? because in all data sheets only see min. 40 hfe, what's the min. value do you have?. 550C over 400 hfe isn't impressive my stock 550C have a range 580-686 hfe.

Attention I see big differences all C grade between manufacturers, I have some 560C Fairchild 544-619 hfe (only two more than 600 hfe) unknown manufacturer 426-517 hfe (only two more than 500 hfe).
