Looking for a stable 120 mains AC schematic that keeps it there without floating around to much. 3amp area.
Not concerned with clean AC so much as in audiophile terms IE.shunyata/Richard gray style conditioners but a constant 120v under all line conditions
Purpose: Stable line for UHP lamps such as JVC etc. Projectors that use these AC mercury based bulbs.
Some of these manuf.of lamps state increased life if the line is held constant.
Hence the ? For the schematic

Can't remember the number but General Radio made several motorized Variacs that worked well in those applications. I used one of my photo enlarger to maintain constant voltage. If you find one on eBay chances are that the Variac part will be good or need a brush, but the circuitry will need service. It's a fairly simple feedback arrangement. One could probably build a better one today with modern parts.
EDIT: I just deleted my post. I was going to suggest an APC Line-R if you could consider an external box, but just dug further and found the regulation is only +6% to -12%.
