Question 75VA EI or 80VA toroid.

Hi guys, I'm trying to choose a transformer for my new baby amp, it only needs to provide a max of 40W per channel (there will be one supply per channel). Which would you choose? the 75V EI weighing 2.2kg or the 80VA todoid weighing 0.95kg. There is less than a dollar diffirence between the two due to diffirent suppliers, one being a retail outlet of a manufacturer. They take up about the same footprint, torroid is 38mm x 96mm, EI is 100x95 and 90mm high, which is still cool as I am useing 4inch sinks.

There is a lot more to consider. What is the "regulation" of both transformers? Is the EI one winding over the other or a split bobbin with side by side windings?

I agree with Simon, check the regulation.

Keep in mind also that usually toroids have more parasitic capacitance between the coils: more high frequency noise is coming from the line.
EI generally leaks more field (not good if you don't want hum in the nearby circuits).
If the EI is a "split bobbin" (which gives you extra decoupling and safety) I would go with it; if the trafo should go near low signal circuits, I would use the toroid.
