Unhappy need help building a switching power supply for car amps

i have just built a switching power supply . project 89 of rod elliots website http://sound.westhost.com/project89.htm. i have some doubs abot the transformer. .. what can be the effect of using different sizes of cores rather that 39 for 360W

please tell me.

Larger core needs less turns so you can use thicker wire and get higher current thus higher power.

thanks alot for the answer.
i just wanna know is there a way to calculate the rate of turns and power exactly with different core sizes.

and how can i calculate the dia of a wire when i know the current and voltage?

Of course there is a way. There are lots of books on it... The ones that helped me the most are "Switching Power Supply Design Third Edition" by A. Pressman and K. Billings, "Power Supply Cookbook" by Marty Brown, and "Switching Power Supplies A to Z" by Sanjaya Maniktala.

I have some "cheat sheets" i wrote which do most of the work for you but i'll only send them to you if you show me you actually looked into those books i mentioned.
