So i recieved my Antek AS-4225 yesterday in the mail!

And on the label, it shows a purple wire as a 'static shield'

What do i use this for?? more so, since its pretty self explanitory, where do i hook it up in this whole amplifier system??

From what I would understand ( I am looking at an AS-3225 ) the static shield would go to ground. The primary and secondary windings should be varnished and safe. Grounding the shield would dissipate any noise between the primaries and secondaries.

Be careful of the HOT GROUND is MOST SMPS.... DANGEROUS

posts 1 & 2 are both referring to an Antek supplied transformer.
Where did smps come from?

Perfect! Thank you guys very much! And the ground will soak it all up and I wont have any of it trying to go back into the circuit?

Any noise dissipated from the shield and static shield would seek the shortest path to ground. This would be the third prong on the NEMA plug (ground) and it would head out to the building/panel ground from there.
