I'm looking for a high quality 50VA toroidal transformer with 6-0-6V output (or 2x0-6V)or 7-0-7V output (or 2x0-7V). I prefer having two primaries of 0-115V each so I can use it in parallel or in series.
Ideally, I'd prefer the transformer having an electrostatic shield b/w primary and secondary with wire from the shield for grounding. This is to avoid noise coupling from primary to secondary. So far, I only see Nuvotem meeting most of the specs., but I don't see anyone advertising transformers with electrostatic shield. |

shielded toroid still has large C between the windings and the shield - so you have the problem of where to gnd the shield
I'd rather have the order of magnitude less C in a split bobbin EI and forgo the shield |

The problem is that I've a space constraint so an EI won't fit. Plus the fact that I don't want excessive heat from an EI.
Is there a way I can measure the capacitance of a toroid? |
