Did some searching and can't seem to find the answer.
I'm posting a couple pics of transformers and how they are wired in a chip amp. The black and red the way they are wired put out approx. 23VAC from each transformer. If I split the black and red to use one transformer for each bridge, what will the output of each wire be? Will it stay the same or be halved? Info on the transformers is pretty vague. Just 300VA. 120v, but no output numbers. Need basic education. Thanks Last edited by semi932; 22nd May 2010 at 04:48 PM. Reason: posting of pics forgot |

I'm pretty sure you'll get 11.5VAC each, right now your probly getting +- 11.5, that's the 23VAC. The best way to use those transformers is in series.

As it turns out, we're both off. After doing some more research on this site,
Building a Gainclone chip amp power supply. I am finally getting to understand how transformers work. I didn't have a real clue. Really educational site by the way and I know many members are very familiar with it and some helped write it. Thanks. |
