Default power supply

hi just wondering what would the easiest way to make a 45 V +/- and a 60 +/- volt power supply for my amp i ordered on the net

You haven't said what current.
A centre tapped transformer of 28-0-28 vac would give -/+40 volts DC, and a little higher off load.

Is the -/+60 for driver stages/front end. If so and it's low current a voltage doubler and regulator would mean you could derive it from the 28-0-28.

If it's the other way round, you need a 40-0-40 vac transformer to give -/+60 volts approximately and use a regulator to derive your 45 volt rails.

Or use two transformers.... messy

Or get a (custom) transformer with dual centre-tapped secondaries. one 28-0-28 and one 40-0-40

hi i need at least 6 amps for the 40+/- supply and a low current for the 60+/- supply

Then the "easiest" is the single transformer and using a doubler for the low current 60 volts rail.

Next easiest is two off the shelf transformers.

Folowed by paying for a custom wound job.
