I see people routinely replace rectifying diodes in linear power supply with HexFREDs for lower switching noise.
Do I get similar benefit if I replace the rectifying diodes in SMPS with HexFREDs? |

Your rectifier diodes in any commercial SMPS should already be fast recovery types.

OK time to see if I actually get fewer harmonics with Hexfred than standard diodes with snubbers in a traditional linear supply. I notice several packaged as dual in common cathode packages, but none in common anode, and only a very few full wave bridges in higher amperage for very high price. I also notice HUGE differences in response time and C between vendors. Anyone found some jewels out there?

I ordered one of these expensive bridges to try in my DH120. We shall see.
