Some questions about transformer

Hi,
Can somebody please explain me what kinds of transformers are available? What is center-tapped, dual secondary / primary transformer, etc.

I've got a transformer that I want to use in a LM317 power supply.
I have the following transformer:

What kind of transformer is it? And how can I use it to achieve a 13.3v regulated power supply with LM317.

P.S. I'm planning on removing the 1000uf inferior capacitor and use a 2x Panasonic 2200uF instead.

Thanks!

I've investigated the transformer and it appears that it has two wires connected together as Negative (they went to the negative side on the cap), and two more wires that re connected separately to a diode, and then (on the stripe side of the diode) they are connected together to form a Positive (connected to the plus side of the cap).

Maybe someone can shed some light on this?
Thanks!

Edit:

Yeah as you can see I desoldered the cap. I've been planing to use 2x Panasonic's 2200uF on a PCB.

Edit2:

I think I figures it out. The transformer is a dual-secondary.
I know that this transformer gace 24v after rectifying, so what would be the best method to take it down to a 13v3 using LM317?

Thanks again :)
