hi there,
i've been told that large value aluminum can dual caps are totally NLA these days. is that also the opinion of anyone on here that's looked for them? among other amps, they were used on the old Yamaha B-1 VFet amp, which i own and which featured a pair of dual 15,000uF with a high enough rail to get 220wpc at 8 Ohms. for workarounds, i've heard of people replacing the pair with either larger single caps, after tying each neg and pos rail together, or making an external enclosure and getting four caps to maintain the original design intent of one cap/rail/channel. i just like to avoid workarounds whenever possible. thanks for the help, if you can give any chris |
