Schematics help, what component is this?
1 Attachment(s)

I am planning on building this power supply but there is one component that I don't have a clue as to what it is. I think it might be a zener diode but I'm not sure, and I don't have a clue as to what it's value should be.

I have marked it in red and would really appreciate your inputs on this.

its a zener diode

Great! But then there was the question of what values these zener diodes should be?

I found out that they are LM326-5.0 Voltage reference or LM329DZ/6.9V

Of those two I would think the 6.9V option would work better. As the amp is set up with a gain of 2 +/- the trim adjustment. 6.9 x 2 = 13.8 so you would need to trim the gain up only a small amount to reach 15V. If you use a 5V ref then the gain needs to be three which I think is outside the range of the circuit.

Thanks gfiandy! As you might have noticed, I am quite new to this. If you don't mind, I'm assuming that the trimming I need to be doing is only at the VR1 and VR2 to get the desired 15V output. As it happens, I did get the 6.9V options :) Thanks again Andrew!

Yes the trim I was refering to is that of the variable resistors VR1 and 2.

Best of luck with your build.

Thanks a lot Andrew!
