battery vs el cheapo 12v wall wart

a bit of a quick question.

reading about the beresford dac's it seems that the power supply is one of the major weak points in terms of sound quality.

a few years ago i read that battery is a very easy way to get a good clean power supply.

so i was thinking if i bought a pair of 12v batteries (one for use the other to be on charge) and hooked the cable connector to it would this be a good simple upgrade to the power to clean up SQ a bit?

i have read plusses and minuses for battery use and it seems that bass can suffer?

has anybody tried this sort of thing?

or is it going to be a suck it and see?

if you use a bank of good quality capacitors and even a nice regulator after the batteries the negative effects are minimized. what are you intending to power with it?

it's a dac made by a small british company. so no power hungry power amps needed. so battery life may be pretty good.

just needed to know whether it was worth the experiment?

If you replace original PCM.... chip with WM8716 & redesign whole analog section, then it is worth.
