I need your opinion about this power.
This is the typical power but used as a stabilizer instead of the Zener diode voltage integrated circuit or IC 78xx. What I complain, is that fellow with the forum say that this is not a good combination. That in such semi transistor much heat? Menu is not clear just why it was so, is that the 78xx voltage regulator output current is 1A, but did not take the output transistor current as much as it should? So I put a resistor R in front of the IC to be limited to the current 200mA, if the transistor has strengthened hfe = 20, and the required output current 5A, so it will be no heating. Other components in the schema are the standard so I wrote the value of these elements, because my interest in the principle of work and whether this could be the circuit to function, and whether this is a better method of voltage regulation from the old ways with the Zener diode and two transistors? I expect your response!
