1mm, coz I had it, you could use smaller and more of them in parallel
I wouldn't go below ~0.5mm, coz wire get really to small and freq. used are still low, 50k in my case But wire size will depend on design itself, liek power needed, freq. used, core size (if you use small core, you will have small space for all the wires to fit) Last edited by luka; 19th December 2009 at 11:10 AM. |

I will use core ETD44 ..
Then use wire 1mm in primary and secondary? 1mm wire is not just for the secondary current, or use 2 wires in parallel? The number of turns is the same circuit? Thanks Lengths Nek Antunes |

for secondary 2 or 3 should be enough, and do use 2 for primary too, or you'll have only empty core
Numbers will depend on your design, those are just some I used at one point, now I don't even have +/-60v anymore, but more like +/-95v and diffrent core(s) I really have it to test cores and wire size/ turn ratios |

you mean output? well its unregulated for now, I did have pretty simple feedback, no compensation, it workd ok, didn't really tested it that much, apart from R on output
Some thing should be changed, and I think I will just do that some time from now, calls for next version... It is reall great to see such big power from such small diy thing, with no heat one could feel And a BIG + is that I have PFC in front of it, makes input voltage rock solid, ripple in pri caps is almost gone (no AC, but DC from pfc) |

yes output.
First ride. I'm having some fear of burning the mosfet, they are not cheap in Portugal.

if you have good feedback, it will be constant all the time
I did not burn not one set of fets one thing one could add is also 10k resistor from D to S why do you have fear of burning fets? if you take it slow, check what smps is doing, you'll be good to go |

Say in another forum that these mosfets burn easily.
These 10k resistors is between the DRAIN and SOURCE of mosfet? "if you take it slow"?? |

Burn easy... well, if you do wrong thing, thing will go, no matter how good, apart from mistage, they are as good as others
damn, sorry, I said wrong, not between DS, but gate and source, GS... yes take it slow, test one part of smps at the time something like, put only input elements on board, connect it, and check that start up circuit works. then add 7812, in my case, and check that is giving 12v add SG, check that is works, IR,... and so on once you get to output, everything will work as it should and there is no reason anything to fail, only if you make mistake |
