You need to either use grossly-overrated VA transformers, or two with much lower step-down ratios. If you don't have such things to hand in the bits box, I'd expect one approriate new valve transformer will be cheaper. |

Ah! that explains it! I had a feeling my theory was flawed. I'd better buy a proper tramsformer. I had hoped to build the whole thing out of stuff from the bits box.

Hi guys,
I've got a question. What if the diodes in the SMPS are replaced by ultra soft recovery HexFRED diodes? Would this help remove noise from the SMPS to begin with? |
