"Hollow state" = slang for vacuum tubes...as opposed to solid state

Thank Gbug. If an equipment requires unregulated supply it means that the proper regulation is built inside . Also , if it is an AC input , is a warning that it requires its own dedicated transformer . This is done to avoid an error connecting plus and minus ,and also because the circuit is guaranteed to work with its own (regulated) power supply .
