Bummer!

I got a whole parts cemetery that I keep as evidence of FUN. I don't know why, it goes against any logic, but it's sorta fun when I see things going up in flames It gets tiring very fast though.

Overvoltage or excessive ripple current are some other causes. Or it could be defective.

Wrong polarity -- I was using a 24V battery and got the red and black wires crossed up.

Walt mentioned that he had written a program for his AP-1 to measure noise. Anyone have a copy? It's pretty painstaking (slow) doing it with the HP-3581 wave analyzer. There is a noise program for the AP-2 but I have yet to figure it out.

Jack, did you ask Walt? I probably have a copy of the Zout measurement script, but not the noise one.
