Default Asking for choke value or calculation for CLC filter

I´m about to build a psu for my new class AB amp. I´d like to try a CLC filter, but got no clue how to calculate the choke value. I´ve searched the forums up and down, no hit ... Per rail a full wave rectifier and a first C stage of 20400 µF followed by 35500 µF are given. AC is 50 Hz here.

Is such an I-core inductor suitable?

Another maybe dumb question: How about using a (toraidal) transformer´s secondaries as filter chokes?

see http://locofonic.alphalink.com.au/choke1.htm
these chokes have to have decent air gaps to prevent core saturatio nas the ycarry high dc current
here is how to test your inductor o see if it is going to saturate

Default 6-volt rectifier tube?

This probably qualifies as a dumb question....

I'm fixin' to build a van Waarde 6as7 headphone amp, and I want to use a tube rectifier. Other tubes are the 6as7, one 6922, and I'm going to add two 3a5's for a tone circuit. Current of the 3a5's is a whopping 4 mA per stage, the 6922 is around 20 mA, and now that I'm at the library I've managed to forget the spec on the 6as7.

I'd like to find a full-wave rectifier with 6-volt heater, but I got thoroughly lost rummaging thru specs. You, like, mebbe gotta idea?

Thanks in advance. Nice place you have here!

E.T., that qualifies you for being a thread hijacker. Obviously this is your first post ever here on diyAudio. Please make yourself familiar with the rules and practises of this place. You sholud create an own thread in the tubes/valves section.

And it would certainly help to know the 6AS7 current, since it's likely to overwhelm the others.

Smell, have you tried doing a sim in PSUDII?

I´ve tried PSUDII, but at a first glance it does´nt help me much. Got to go deeper into it, having a lack of understanding.
