I have an ol' Pioneer SX650.beautiful unit.
I was wondering if the PS has alternate taps for 220VAC operation. There is no switch of course but I'm curious if it has unconnected taps and the switch was just deleted ...as a cost cutting measure. I would like to know if someone is familiar with this unit before I tear into it. __________________________________________________ __________Rick...... |

Hi Richard,
which voltage do you have in Argentina, by the way? There might be a voltage selector right beside the AC socket. If not, and you've the USA/Canada-version (type/model KU/KC), you'll be an unhappy person since you won't have any chance to change that. The type/model HG is switchable - but only between 220V or 240V. Finally the type/model S is the only one covering the whole range of primary voltages: 110V, 120V, 220V and 240V. The transformers for all types/models are different and do not provide any 'hidden' connectors - as far as I now and what the service manual was telling me. |
