Troubleshoot Xantrex Xpower 1500 Inverter

I have a Xantrex Xpower 1500 Inverter which has suffered some indignity.

When switched on the green power LED does not light, the red FAULT LED does.

I'm looking for guidelines for troubleshooting this thing.

1. what conditions cause fault indications?

2. test points for sanity check?

3. methods for current limiting while testing?

4. an actual schematic for this device (I have several 'representative' schematics of this device category).

Glad to find this site, Found more here in a hour than in visits to 50 other sites. Right on!

Would you post the schematic that you have...I am trying to find info on a Xantrex 1750..Is this the swme one ....Barbie

I also have a newer XANTREX 1750. The fault is that it will not produce AC when switched on with the unit's panel switch.
However if you switch off the DC and back on again it is fine.
I think the unit is failing to start switching but is shocked on, by the DC power being added.
Would anyone have or know of where I could get a schematic?
