the RC time constant is R*C
=10*10^-6 * 100 = 0.001s = 1millisecond. As a rough estimate, the charge remaining in the capacitor ~1% after 5 RC periods. I would guess that in 10ms after pulling the plug, the charge in the capacitor is virtually unmeasurable by any of your instruments.

Thanks. So for 12VAC 70V at least, so MUR105 (50V) isn't enough. Would it be better to use PCB transformers or toroid?
