Default Phase inverting one half of a push-pull parrallel channel before recombining?

Right my understanding of push-pull is that the voltage swing is split between 2 channels which amplify either half (maybe not the best description...), couldn't you invert the phase of one channel so there's not harmonic cancellation?

At least somewhat, so long as the duty cycle is set to maximum, if I understand you. But normally the 180 degree phasing is beneficial for greatly reducing current peaks.

Are you asking about transformer-coupled audio amplifiers or switching power supplies?

Audio amplifiers. I was thinking of how to improve harmonic spectrum of push-pull amp types like AB.
