that would be nice if you could post a schematic! i dont know how many would like a board for such a supply...but maybe enough people would like it to say the day so that a group buy can be organized. we never know.
any reason why it wouldnt work well? |

Trying to figure out how to calculate the heat dissapation on the IRF840. I understand its Vout*iccsmA*X, what is X ?

Where do you guys buy these big 15W+ heat sinks? I can't find anything at digikey. Would like to buy a thick 3" finned strip that I could cut to size to fit in a typical tube amp chassis. My understanding is you want this shunt regulator in the same chassis as the tubes to keep the B+ wire short as possible. This shunt reg I think will turn the headphone SET amp world upside down with a simple 6c45pi spud amp+OPT. Basically no electrolytics in the signal path anywhere. Exciting stuff. I love the way Salas brings new technology to improve ancient but wonderful designs. |
