Hi guys,
Just decided to use 5x 6V SLA batteries in a portable setup I am building. I'm using the batteries at 30V but I would like to charge them at 6V using my SLA charger. I can't find any SLA charger made for 30V battery packs. I'm wondering if any of you would be kind enough just to draw me the schematic I would need to build in order to be able to switch from series to parallel on these batteries. Thanks, Max |

Jerome Industries makes 15-cell (30V) lead acid chargers.

Tried emailing them and got no luck... I'll try to give them a call and see if they would sell me only 1 unit.

What about build your own charger? It isn't that difficult for lead acid. All you need is a current limited supply switchable between two voltage limits. Just start by charging to 2.4v per cell under current limit, hold the voltage for a preset time when reached, and then fall back to 2.3v per cell.

If anyone have some spare time, I would be interested to purchase a custom made SLA charger for my 30V battery pack.
