I would like to build the solid state power supply for my 6sn7 aikido that is pictured in the included manual (wish I could find it online to post). There is a polarized cap on either side of the choke and a bipolar cap on the output side all going to ground. These are not labeled.
Any ideas on what values to use? Any rec's on what Fast Rec diodes to use from fairchild? I can use AC or DC for the filaments. Is there an advantage to one? Thanks for any help. |

JayH3, there are quite a few informative threads on this forum regarding the Aikido (and its power supply) in the Tubes section. Also there is a comprehensive thread on AC vs DC heating.
Use the search facilities and you should be able to locate them easily enough. All you need then is a free afternoon to wade through all of the information... : ) |

I have done a bit of searching but it seems like most people are using tube rectified power supplies. The threads talking about ss rectification didnt quite answer my questions.
