Hi,
chokes are expensive and bulky but having the nice effect, among others, to 'sinusize' the rectified waveform. A cap mulitplier might be used, but does not sound as good (imho). It has been mentioned around here that a CCS can possibly replace a choke. Is it worth it in a medium voltage PSU (30-40V) for a preamp? What are the relevant design parameters for such a CCS? Rüdiger
