Default Bridge rectifier voltage question

I have a some 40v schotty rectifiers I would like to use in
a full wave bridge. How do I figure the max ac that a bridge
built with these can handel without exceeding that 40v rating?

I figure that used in a halfwave circuite the max would be ~
14v ac I kind of expect the fullwave configuration would
still have a 14v ac limitation. Kind of related to this I seem
to rember that schotty rectifiers can't be put in seriese for
higher voltage am I right about this?

Highest voltage you can use is 40V peak then. (28.28V RMS) I'd recommend 25V or less because it's not hard to kill a rectifier due to overvoltage. IMO high voltage kills the diode easier than high current. I found that out after killing a 45V part.

40V is way low, sounds like it was for 5V or 12V supply. Try a high-voltage super fast diode like MUR3020 or MUR3060. The 3020 is 200V and the 3060 is 600V, both are 30 Amps.
