Hi,
normally, the LM317 series regulator is internally secured for shorted output. This works as long as the maximem Vin->Vout relation ~ 40VDC isn't violated. In my case, I have 60V in and 30V out A shorted output, even for a fraction of a second, immediatly kills the device. Is there a simple method to maintain safety when the output is shorted?
