I've not heard of many tube amps with switching PS designs, they likely cost more than the transformer itself and in my mind the complexity probably negates any benefit of lighter weight.
bulky iron is just a fact of life with tubes. Even if you avoid the PS transformer somehow you will then have output transformers(unless you build an OTL? unlikely) and PS chokes.
