I'm looking to build a guitar amplifier from subminiature tubes, and I'd like to build a subminiature, battery-powered supply to power it. Can anyone suggest the best and most simple way to do this?
I need roughly ten watts at 280v, though a little bit of headroom would be nice. |

Woot! I just found a 6vDC to 280vDC vibrator with "hash filter" on eBay for $20 shipped!
I figure I should go for it - does anyone have any familiarity with these devices? |

Take one of those cheap power inverters and rewire the bridge rectifier of the push pull stage into a voltage doubler. Or just put a voltage doubler on the output.
