Default IGBT X MOSFET in SMPS DESIGN

Discussion about transistors aplication in SMPS design. All comments are wellcome.

Chacalpowers crest pro9200, 2 igbts rail pos and neg , ir2110 ,sg3525 only diode and resisten.

The device selection is driven by power levels and power loss. Above a certain voltage and/or current you need to go to IGBTs. The down side of IGBTs is that they have high switching losses, so this limits the operating frequency.

some computers power supply use transistors. majority of CRT monitors including tv,s used one transistor in fly buck mode . and amps like Labgruppen-FP3400 uses high power but 3pcs igbt paralleled in fly buck mode
