Default off topic

This seems like home planet to me so here's an off topic question: I just had a Dynakit SCA 35 refurbished by our local tube dude including power supply caps and output tubes. My initial impression is, where's the magic? I like my NAD better. Should I have gone with the Tronola/DaveG kit? Is my generic DD turntable too crappy? Why are my Stanton stylii bent? Is this enough to ask?

AFAIC SCA35 is a set of donor iron for a different circuit.

You've mentioned an EL 84 PP along the way. Can you give it a name, like Huey?

"Chria" - simply another alias or is it an alter ego for Chrisb?

A different circuit...known as.......
My local tube man looked at my 6V6 monoblocks and asked "why change anything? It's an Ampex." I'm intrigued by PP amps that challenge SETs, since single ended seems non-frugal somehow.
Shoulda not let my Mc225 get stolen

Too beautiful....really! I'm very very tempted but alas the contraints of room size are starting to impact my speaker aquisition....only doing building now and not buying. But gorgeous ear and eye candy to be sure.
