Default Just too much stuff... almost giving it away

We build lots of proto-types. We are usually chok-a-block. Things are way to crammed now so its time to move some of them out. I will be open to offers but i'm pricing these, i hope, so that i'll have a feeding frenzy.

I will put one item per post.

Applicable taxes for those in Canada. You pay post. Some things will be pick-up only.

If there is anything you have seen and would like to scoop up, poke me and we'll see. Maeshowe already gone.

dave

Items SOLD

Inevitable OFF-Topic discussion

A list of things coming up... let me know if you want me push any to the top. Some will need digging out.
  • MJK Alpair10 prototype horn with Alpair 10 BassWide (ideal for a FAST, or add a regular tweeter -- i can likely come up with one), black, pickup only $200/pr
  • BK12M with FE126eN, the prototypes for the design now being flat-paked by Madisound. Unfinished. Asking what Madisound is for their flat-pak -- $315
  • Enlarged Buschhorn Mk1 with proto FF125KeN, I can tell the buyer exactly how these differ from EdHorns $200/pr

That's it for now, i fully expect to dig out more

which speakers?

FWIW, I've used a pair of FE127E (in fact at one time or another, many of the actual enclosures pictured above) with a pair of Bottlehead Paramours, as well as clone of Decware 84C Zen and other 2-3W SE and class A PP triode amps. At these levels of sensitivity, the room and your listening habits play a large role in the system's overall effectiveness.

Lots of folks have been happy with combination of drivers with sensitivity as low as 88dB and amps in this weight class.

You'd want to look at one of the 2 boxes with FE127eN. The larger FonkenPrime were one of Chris' main speakers for some time.

About 90 dB/1 watt

For more efficiency in a small driver, you get about an extra 3 dB by going to the FE126... of the boxes on sale, the prototype Madisound BK12M

Yes, those would be one of your candidates. This built pair is selling for about what a flat-pak cost.

About the size of a set of LS3/5A (and in our direct comparisons in the same league (i personally like the mFonken better)).

I have a set that are in regular rotation in my office.

Wow, those awesome sound boxes! The sound must be sweet with our FU-50 or EL34 amp. If I were in Canada I will get a pair with no doubt.

If you ever get to Hong Kong, Tony (Twin Audio) is doing some of these, and he has an associate in Bejing.
