Dave, love the pics of course, I assume the top one is your pad. An army of speakers.

Can you comment on the CHR-70 'house sound' compared to the other Mark Audio drivers? Do they sound similar, or totally different?

This is quite a great price for an enabled pair of drivers BTW.

I can't comment on the sounds of it's stablemates, but for the price of the eNA chr-70's, I'd grab a pair while I could!

CHR70 sonics are clearly of the same family as the other metal cone drivers. Not quite as refined or finessed, but with better bass cpabilities and more robust (the pluses & minuses are mirrors of the choices that were made to keep the price down).

The paper cone drivers (EL70, and a prototype A6p), are further away but still of the same family.

IINM, the original Spawn designs predated our introduction to the earliest of Mark's drivers, and the Chang family ranged from Suzy ( FE103E ) to full-on G Chang and Curvy sibling ( FE207E). Of the enclosure sizes in this series I'd imagine that the Brynn or Gabriel might be most suitable for CHR / CHP70 etc. I've built a couple of pairs of the little single mouth Brynn ( FE127E), and they are an easy build and certainly work, but not without limitations.

Scott can correct me on this, but the above said, there are several more recent full size double mouthed designs that are more precisely tailored to the Mark Audio series of drivers, and of the 2 that I've heard, the Maeshowe would be my suggestion for CHR70. With appropriate adjustment for driver chamber volume, it certainly wails with Fostex FE126E. I haven't heard the Lotus - which I guess you're considering it due to room considerations (front mouth or large BVR termini(?) certainly offer some placement advantages)
