BG RD40, RD50, RD75 distortion measurements?
Has anyone done THD measurements on the Bohlender Graebner RD series drivers?
After looking at the dismal distortion performance of most ribbons on the zaphaudio site, I am wondering if I couldnt find a better midrange than my RD40. |

why?
Looking at that site, I see that the BG Neo's outperformed all the ribbons by a wide margin.... and the author also recommends the long BG's for line arrays.... sooooo
why do you think your RD-40's aren't good enough... there's nothing on that site that condemns them... in fact, indirectly, they are heralded. my soon to me modified dipoles....

I've found a correlation between what tests good and what sounds good. In particular, low THD for me seems to be highly correlated with what I think sounds good.
If another driver measures better in THD in the 800-4000hz range I'd be inclined to ditch my RD40's. |
