ok so iv never built a speaker box before ... but i was thinking today would there be anypoint to useing sound dampening on the inside of a box ? like dyna matt or somthing like it ? just cut to fit the entire inside of the box ?

Yup! Loadsa different variations on that theme too. Depends what you're going for in the end. Bitumus damping on panels helps to "deaden" some of the residual noise from panel walls and bracing. Modelling clay applied to speaker chassis helps eliminate ringing. Loads of applications - if in doubt, try it; you can (usually) undo it if you're not happy.
