Default Servo-subwoofers anyone

Lately I bumped into this:
http://www.betteraudio.com/geolemon/servoproject/

Anyone ever tried/heard something like these? I wonder if this is possible and if so, how does it sound, what's the efficiency etc etc.

I know Servodrive has the Basstech 7 (http://www.servodrive.com/basstech7.html), but they still use a speaker-cone. Although I never heard them (they don't distribute in Europe), I can't imagine it sounds bad. Otherwise they wouldn't exist anymore
