Can't help you with those 2 amps, since I have no experience with them, the capacitance issue is across the whole frequency range.
Why cross over at 5k, the beauty of the electrostats are not having any crossover.

Default Comments on the original questions...

A lot of the comments that were gathered said something about how such and such a film doesn't shrink well so it is unsuitable for ESLs.

My experience has been that heat shrinking the film is not adequate if you want to use high bias voltage and relatively narrow diaphrgam spacing to get maximum sensitivity from the speakers. I always use mechanical stretching and it doesn't fail. I have test drivers I built 15 years ago that are still working just fine.

Someone else commented something about one of the films sounding "harsh". Hmmmmmm.
